Community Greening Initiatives

Each of the five participating Canadian Forces communities has its own greening initiatives and projects. In their own ways they are all helping to reduce their carbon footprints and adding natural beauty back into their communities. Some of the greening initiatives include the Summer Beautification contest at CFB Kingston that promotes lawn maintenance and planting flowers and gardens, the planting of a new community garden at 4 Wing Cold Lake, and the planning and creation of a ‘Green Gym’ for recreation and relaxation at the Black Bear Warrior Support Centre in CFB Petawawa.
